Carpet-bombing Barack Obama
Just this week, the Los Angeles Times ran an interview quoting the Republican National Committee's political director, Rick Wiley, talking about their 2012 strategy:
"Wiley acknowledged that the RNC can't fully unleash its entire 2012 operation, which will cost hundreds of millions of dollars, until there is a GOP presidential nominee who can help raise money for the party's efforts.
"'When we get that nominee, boom,' he said."
I'm going to take "boom" to mean they're planning on carpet-bombing Barack Obama the very moment they have a presumptive nominee -- and we have to be ready for them.
We're facing a critical FEC fundraising deadline this Saturday. Make sure we're ready for this fight and donate $5 or more today.
To be clear, though, the Republicans aren't exactly biding their time while they wait for a nominee.
The Romney campaign has already spent $68 million in this race. The Super PACs have eclipsed that nearly two-fold, spilling $112 million into the primaries -- an amount that's literally unprecedented.
And remember, this is all before things go "boom."
Democrats and the Obama campaign have been planning for months to make sure we're ready for our opponent. The only thing that will stop us is if we don't have the resources to do it.
What we have on hand by this Saturday's critical FEC deadline will tell us if we're ready or not.
Make sure we're ready. Donate today:
